Short Notes is an editorial journal. We cover Chicago's live events, venues and days out — we do not sell tickets, take bookings, or have any commercial relationship with any venue or promoter.
Get in touch
For corrections, tips, or event suggestions, email us at notes@shortna.me. We read every message but cannot guarantee a reply to all of them.
What we can help with
If you have noticed an error in our venue guides or planning pages — a wrong address, an outdated transport note, an incorrect capacity — please let us know and we will look into it. If you have a tip about a venue or event that we should cover, we welcome those too.
What we cannot help with
We do not handle ticket sales, refunds, event enquiries, or complaints about venues. For those, contact the venue or event organiser directly through their official site. We have no connection to any of the venues or events we write about.

How to Make Your Message Useful
A short, specific note is far easier for us to act on than a long general one. When you write in about a correction, it helps to tell us which page you were reading, what the text currently says, and what you believe is right. If you can point to where you found the updated information, such as a venue's own website, a transit agency notice or a recent visit, mention it. We check changes against official sources before we edit anything, so a clear starting point speeds that up.
Sending a tip or event suggestion
We are most interested in things that help readers plan a good night or day out: a smaller venue that rarely gets written about, a neighbourhood festival, a recurring series, or a practical detail about getting to and from a familiar place. Tell us what the event or venue is, which part of Chicago or the wider Midwest it is in, and why you think it deserves a look. We cannot promise coverage, and we never accept payment or free tickets in exchange for it, which keeps our events guide independent.
Before you write
- Ticket problems: contact the seller or venue box office directly. They hold your order details and are the only ones who can issue refunds or exchanges.
- Accessibility questions: venues' own access teams can give the most current information on seating, entrances and assistance.
- Schedule changes: dates and start times can shift, so always confirm on the organiser's official channels close to the day.
You may also find your answer already covered in our planning pages or the venue guides, which we update when readers flag changes. Thank you for helping keep Short Notes accurate for everyone heading out in the city.
